ADSL and SDSL links Print E-mail

ADSL or SDSL links are the most common and cost-effective option for connecting customer sites to their private network.

Depending on line length from the local telephone exchange, among other factors, ADSL download speeds of up to 8Mbps are possible.  The more meaningful measure is up-load speed which can approach 800kbps.  SDSL services typically provide 2Mbps in both directions.

The ADSL and SDSL circuits terminate directly on the AlwaysON Next Generation Network and do NOT pass traffic over the public Internet at any time.

ADSL and SDSL circuits are suitable for connections to smaller offices and home workers, or as back-up for higher speed links to larger offices.  They are also suitable for telemetry, alarm panels and CCTV.  Multiple links can be 'bonded' together to increased bandwidth capacity, and voice and data can be converged over the IP connection, although for larger offices it is recommened that voice and data is transmitted on separate links.

Each circuit is terminated by a self-provisioning (plug and play) AlwaysON ONnet1108G router, which is remotely managed by AlwaysON, requiring no technical expertise on site.  Wired and wireless Ethernet access with security is provided on all ports for connection to premise equipment.

Individual end user/device security authentication can be managed directly by AlwaysON or can be proxied to the customer’s own authentication servers as shown in the diagram below.
